Back to Geneva for GDC 2026

Back to Geneva for Global Digital Collaboration 2026! From 1 to 3 September, Eelco Klaver and Ruben Wonink will be heading back to Geneva for the Global Digital Collaboration Conference, invited by the FIDES - Accelerating Digital Trust community.

Last year was our first time at Global Digital Collaboration. What made it particularly interesting was seeing how developments around digital wallets were taking shape not only in Europe, but globally. Different countries and ecosystems are working on many of the same questions around digital identity, trust, interoperability and digital credentials.

One year later, a lot has changed. Especially around the European Business Wallet (EBW). With the European Business Wallet gaining momentum and the EUDI ecosystem moving further towards implementation, the conversation is increasingly shifting from what Business Wallets could become to how we actually build and use them in practice.

Through the WE BUILD Consortium, Credenco is actively involved in that development. WE BUILD brings together more than 200 public and private organisations from 28 countries to develop and test 13 real world use cases across business, supply chain and payments. The goal is to help shape the next stage of the EUDI Wallet and European Business Wallet ecosystem.

This year at GDC, we will also contribute to that conversation ourselves.

Engineering the European Business Wallet: Insights from the WE BUILD LSP

Eelco will represent Credenco and WE BUILD in a session focused specifically on the technical and architectural side of the emerging European Business Wallet ecosystem.

Together with other experts from WE BUILD, the session will explain what makes the business wallet really different from the personal wallets and discuss the challenges this introduces. Topics like organizational identity, delegation, interoperability, scalability and trusted cross border data exchange will be touched, and we will share experiences from translating evolving specifications into near production implementations for real world business and government use cases.

For us, that makes returning to Geneva particularly interesting. Last year we were discussing where digital wallets were heading globally. This year, we are coming back with practical experience from actually building, integrating and testing the European Business Wallet.

Looking forward to three days of exchanging experiences, diving deeper into the EBW and learning from developments happening across Europe and beyond. See you in Geneva!
