Business Wallets in Action: The Recap
Session highlights, live demos and photos from our Utrecht event
We turned theory into practice at Business Wallets in Action: eleven sessions, live demos, and honest conversations about what business wallets can already do today.

What happens when you put business wallets in action?
Last week in Utrecht, we got to find out together. At Business Wallets in Action, we wanted to go beyond talking about what business wallets could do. The idea behind this event was simple: bring the people building and using them into one room, show practical examples, and make space for honest questions and discussion.
Together with the FIDES Community, FIDES Labs, Digidentity, Credenco and Sphereon, we created an afternoon built around that idea. The programme featured 11 practical sessions and live demos across three break-out rounds.
Participants explored cross-border KYC and onboarding, employee wallets, digital permits, verifiable HR credentials and trust in B2B e-commerce. We also looked at the questions that come after a successful demo: integration with existing systems, governance and the steps from pilot to implementation.
For us at Credenco, it was particularly rewarding to show how a Business Wallet can work alongside an Employee Wallet together with Louise de Laat of Bundesanzeiger Verlag GmbH, and to join Willam van Weelden of Centric in presenting a digital permit that an inspector can verify by scanning a QR code. Seeing these use cases up close led to exactly the kind of conversations we had hoped for.
A special thank you to Kristian T. Sørensen of IN Groupe for opening the afternoon with lessons from Denmark and the Nordics. Kristian described the event afterwards as an "interactive and engaging setting". That means a lot to us, because we wanted people to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their experiences and challenging what they saw.
The day also brought a wonderful moment for our team: Credenco received two FIDES Community Awards. Our Business Wallet won Best Business Wallet 2026, while the digital VOG pilot we developed with Justis, the Dutch screening authority, won the Impact Award 2026. We're grateful to the community and the independent jury for recognising the work behind both. 🏆🏆
Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions and kept the conversations going over drinks and good food. And thank you to all our speakers for sharing their work so openly. This was a community effort from start to finish.
