Identity Week Amsterdam — Wallets Moving from Vision to Adoption

Last week, Ruben Wonink attended Identity Week Amsterdam and came back with one clear takeaway: wallets and verifiable credentials are rapidly moving from vision to real-world adoption.

Compared to previous years, the conversation is shifting. Beyond policy and personal identity, there is growing momentum around practical ecosystem use cases, with the Business Wallet becoming increasingly visible as a driver of trusted digital interactions.

Another notable development was the growing presence of Identity Verification (IDV) providers integrating wallet capabilities into onboarding and verification processes. A strong signal that Europe's digital trust infrastructure is moving from concept to implementation.

Most valuable of all were the conversations with partners, innovators, and familiar faces across the ecosystem on what is needed to accelerate adoption in practice.
