Shaping the digital future through collaboration

On July 1 and 2, 2025, the Global Digital Collaboration took place in Geneva — a public-private partnership bringing together key stakeholders from governments, international organisations, and the private sector to advance the digital identity agenda.

The event was structured around one central question: how do we move from fragmented national digital identity systems to something that works seamlessly across borders? The answer, repeated across sessions and working groups, was consistent — through collaboration between the public and private sectors, built on open standards.

Credenco participated as part of a broader group of European wallet providers and identity infrastructure companies. Our contribution focused on the practical requirements of the Business Wallet: what businesses need from digital identity infrastructure, how verifiable credentials reduce friction in cross-border workflows, and what interoperability actually means at the implementation level.

The conversations in Geneva reinforced what we see in every deployment: the standards are ready, the technology is mature, and the remaining barriers are organisational. Progress happens when the right people — technical experts, policymakers, and practitioners — are in the same room and willing to commit to shared outcomes.
