eIDAS 2.0

eIDAS 2.0 is the revised European regulation on electronic identification and trust services. It mandates the EUDI Wallet and establishes the legal framework for verifiable credentials to carry legal validity across the European Union.

eIDAS 2.0 defines the roles every EUDI Wallet ecosystem needs: issuers of qualified and non-qualified attestations, trust service providers listed on national Trusted Lists, and relying parties that must accept wallet credentials in regulated sectors such as banking and telecom. It also introduces Qualified Electronic Attestations of Attributes, which carry the same legal weight as a notarised paper document, so a business can rely on a digital credential without a manual check.
