Credenco Newsletter: November 2026 edition
AI agents, secure wallet-to-wallet messaging and European interoperability
A look back at October: credenco-cli brings AI agent control to the Business Wallet, WMP enables secure wallet-to-wallet messaging, and our work with the WE BUILD testbed and trust lists strengthens interoperability across the European Business Wallet ecosystem.

Welcome to the November edition of the Credenco Newsletter.
Over the past month we have continued to make digital trust more practical and accessible. From launching credenco-cli, which lets users manage their Business Wallet through an AI agent, to expanding our credential issuance and verification capabilities, we have taken further steps towards making digital identity easier to use and integrate.
In this edition we highlight our latest product improvements, our perspective on the SCARLET initiative for European digital identity and payments, and what is coming up next for Credenco.
Highlights
- Just ask your Business Wallet. We introduced credenco-cli, making it possible to interact with a Credenco Business Wallet through an AI agent using simple, natural-language prompts. The CLI is available as a ready-to-install binary for macOS, Linux and Windows, making it easier to explore wallet management and credential issuance.
- SCARLET: a step towards European digital identity and payments. The SCARLET initiative of the European Payments Council aims to establish a common rulebook for using EU Digital Identity Wallets for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). We shared our perspective on why common rules are important to support consistent adoption and interoperability across the European payment ecosystem.
Product updates
- Manage your Business Wallet with an AI agent. With credenco-cli you can interact with your Business Wallet using simple, natural-language prompts. Ready-to-install binaries are available for macOS, Linux and Windows, alongside a setup guide, a demo video and automatic version checks.
- Secure wallet-to-wallet messaging. We made significant progress integrating WMP messaging, enabling two wallets to establish a secure connection and exchange credentials through messages. We also implemented the latest proposals on unattended machine-to-machine issuance and presentation with OpenID4VC. Both implementations are crucial for business-to-business interactions, since a company has no fingers to approve requests.
- More flexible APIs and credential issuance. Issuer templates, verifier templates, credential templates and DID-related keys can now be managed through the public API, making integration with your own systems easier.
- More precise and secure credential sharing. Wallets now respond more precisely to verifier requests for specific attributes across both SD-JWT and mdoc credentials. Verifiers also check that the complete response matches the request, helping ensure that only the requested information is shared. Our verifier now includes the relying party registration certificate required by the EUDI Wallets, supporting interoperability work with German and French wallet pilots.
- Expanded identity and trust support. DID identifiers are now supported throughout the platform, including trusted contacts, inbox delivery and issuer trust checks. This makes it easier to work with counterparties using this identifier method.
- More control over issuance and verification. Administrators can configure session validity periods per credential type, control whether credentials can be issued again, select the key used to sign issuer metadata, and import complete certificate chains in one step.
- A more informative Business Wallet dashboard. The overview dashboard now shows activity over time and breaks down credentials issued, received and verified, alongside the existing totals.
- Professional Wallet improvements. In the Professional Wallet, users can now turn off card backgrounds, see languages displayed in their own scripts in the language picker, and follow an in-app help animation showing how to reorder credentials.
- WE BUILD testbed and trust infrastructure. This month we continued working towards full compliance with the latest WE BUILD testbed requirements. We are also integrating WE BUILD trust lists to support trusted interactions and interoperability across the European Business Wallet ecosystem.
Save the date
- 3 and 4 November, WE BUILD general assembly, Bucharest. The WE BUILD Consortium meets to review progress across its work packages and plan the next phase of the Large Scale Pilot. - Week of 23 to 27 November, WE BUILD interoperability workshop, Madrid. Credenco will participate in the WE BUILD interoperability workshop for the Wallet Provider group, continuing work on connecting wallets and strengthening interoperability across the European Business Wallet ecosystem.
Our people
A special thank you to Martijn de Bruijn for creating the demo video behind our credenco-cli announcement.
The video brings the idea of an AI-powered Business Wallet to life, showing how a user can simply ask an AI agent to carry out a task instead of navigating a complex workflow. It helped make the announcement tangible and demonstrated how natural-language interaction can simplify wallet management and credential issuance.
Great work turning a technical capability into a clear, practical demonstration of what business wallets can do.
Closing
Thank you for being part of the Credenco community and helping make digital trust tangible through real tools, product innovation and collaboration.
